Ohio "Big 8" Academic Performance and Teacher Data

As a follow-up to the previous post on academic performance measures on the Ohio School Report Card, the table below presents some additional data related to teachers in the largest eight urban school districts in Ohio (click the table to enlarge).

Cincinnati Public Schools has the highest teacher salaries of all the urban districts, but is pretty close to the other two large urban districts - Columbus and Cleveland. The "average years of teacher exerience" is also very high at 18, which, not surprisingly, is highly correlated with average teacher salary. A more detailed analysis of elementary school and high school teacher salaries and school performance will be posted on this blog shortly.
