This presentation is an in-depth examination of a proven formula and model for student success. The Seidman Retention Formula posits that Retention = Early Identification + (Early + Intensive + Continuous) Intervention. The Seidman Success Model is integrated into this formula and shows how a college faculty, with administrative support, can prepare their programs and courses so students will have the greatest probability of success both personally and academically. The integration of college services and programs (assessment, developmental courses, career services, faculty, financial aid, internships, learning & classroom communities, learning resource centers, mission statement, orientation) is critical to student success and a vital part of this model.
