Strive is establishing and seeking nominations for a new Community Engagement and Advocacy Committee.
By establishing this committee, Strive seeks to create a sustainable organizational structure that will support ongoing community engagement. The purpose of the committee is to promote a broad based education reform movement by connecting individuals, organizations and communities to the work of Strive.
The committee will provide guidance and support for existing and future Strive community engagement efforts.
Some examples of the type of work the committee will undertake includes 1) gathering feedback on critical education issues facing specific neighborhoods and the broader community, 2) sharing the vision and work of the Strive partnership with the broader community through speaking engagements and community presentations, 3) identifying educational champions to feature in social media and consider as recipients of the LEARN awards and 4) identifying and connecting partners in the community who are getting results to improve student outcomes to the Strive partnership.
If you would like to nominate someone to serve on this committee, please send me an email. We are accepting nominations through the end of the week.
